About

Mia Landgren is a visual artist and actor living and working in Melbourne, Australia.

Mia creates watercolour, textile and beading works which reflect her interest in storytelling and the natural world. Many of her compositions evolve from narrative beginnings, drawing inspiration from literature, live performance, photography and personal experience. These narrative sources are then expressed visually by exploring the precision, colours, textures and movements found in nature.

When not painting and weaving, Mia works as an actor in theatre, film and television. She draws inspiration from her exposure to and collaboration with other live performance creatives, such as set and costume designers. Her process for creating new visual work often involves an interplay of influence between her varied experiences in the creative arts.

Her distinctive style endeavours to take viewers on a visual journey, convey feelings of whimsy with elements of surprise

Mia’s new collection of dinosaur and Australian themed prints are detailed fine art reproductions of her original watercolour paintings.  These charming works fuse decorative and narrative elements together, to inspire a curiosity and passion for the natural world.
